This project centers around an inclusive playground and splash pad, located adjacent to the Puddle Jumper Trail in Orange City, IA. Play elements were selected through a series of steering committee meetings, in which community members evaluated a variety of products that appeal to a wide range of ages and abilities. Play pieces that accommodate younger children, those with mobility issues and/or other disabilities, as well as more challenging elements are intermixed to allow all users to socialize and play together. The design includes a mixture of accessible surfaces, including poured in place rubber and playground grass designed to meet required safety standards, and variety of innovated play equipment to provide a diverse range of experiences for all ages.

The project also includes a two-bay zip line feature, accessible walking path, new parking lot, landscape beds, irrigation system, and utility connections for a future park shelter. Construction began in the spring of 2023 and was completed mid-summer.
