THE BEGINNING
Brad Beck started Beck Engineering, Inc. in Spirit Lake, IA.
FIRST PROJECT
BEI's first project is completed which was a parking lot at Tvedte's strip mall in Okoboji, IA.
FIRST PUBLIC PROJECT
BEI's first public project is built. The Spirit Lake Hill Avenue Boardwalk was a joint project between the City of Spirit Lake and the Iowa DNR.
AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
BEI wins the Award of Excellence from the Iowa Concrete Paving Association for the East Entryway Project in the City of Spirit Lake.
STORMWATER CONFERENCE NOMINATION
BEI wins the Stormwater Conference Nomination for Outstanding Performance for innovative design of stormwater management practices that facilitate improvement in stormwater quality for low impact development practices implemented at Historic Arnolds Park.
AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
BEI wins the Award Of Excellencefro the Iowa Concrete Paving Association for the Wahpeton Recreational Trail.
IOWA QUALITY INITIATIVE STRUCTURES AWARD
BEI wins the Iowa Quality Initiative Structures Award from the AGC and Iowa DOT for the South 2nd Street Bridge over Silver Lake Dam Spillway in the City of Lake Park.
STATE AND NATIONAL ASPHALT AWARD
BEI wins the State and National Asphalt Paving Athletic Use Paving Award for the Spirit Lake High School track project.
STORMWATER RECOGNITION
BEI and the City of Okoboji earn recognition from the Stormwater Conference for implementation of stormwater green infrastructure practices in local watersheds for several gardens that were built in the City.

NEW OFFICE
A new office is constructed at 3301 Zenith Avenue in Spirit Lake, IA for Beck Engineering's Headquarters. At this time BEI had 10 full time employees.
