- Iowa CDBG Water and Sewer Fund – Funds awarded through this annual competitive program assist cities and counties with projects such as sanitary sewer system improvements, water system improvements, water and wastewater treatment facility projects, storm sewer projects related to sanitary sewer system improvements, and rural water connections. - EDA Industry Transformation Path – Provides support for coalition-led, multi-project initiatives aimed at shifting or strengthening key industries in the region. For more information on the EDA Industry Transformation Path, click here. Applications are due by March 3, 2026.
- AARP Community Challenge – A funding opportunity that focuses on quick-action projects that make communities more livable and spark long-term change. Grants should align with AARP’s mission to serve the needs of people aged 50-plus and increase the quality of life for the community. Projects could include (1) permanent physical improvements, (2) temporary demonstrations, or (3) innovative new programming. For more information on the AARP Community Challenge, click here. - All American City Awards – AAC brings together communities from across the country and provides an opportunity for innovative leaders and passionate citizens to connect with and learn from their peers. The Award shines a light on communities that are working to tackle tough issues and lifts these places up for national recognition. For more information on the All American City Awards, click here. - Iowa Rural Heritage Revitalization Grant – Non-profits, local governments, and federally recognized tribal councils may apply for grants ranging from $75,000 to $150,000 to support the rehabilitation of historic properties in rural Iowa. - Iowa DNR Land and Water Conservation Fund – Program is a federally funded grant program that provides 50% cost share for outdoor recreation area development and land acquisition. Iowa’s cities and counties are eligible to participate. Applications can be for up to $250,000 per project and funding is based on a required 1:1 match. - IDNR Urban Forestry Development Grant (IA) – Provides reimbursable grants to complete projects such as creating community forestry plans, building urban food forests, hosting educational programming, and workforce development through forestry internships. The grant is a two-year program allowing for projects to take place in the spring and fall of 2026 and 2027. - T-Mobile Hometown Grants – Funding will transform projects in hundreds of communities through park revitalization, upgraded technology, public safety support, expanded access, and so much more.
