Wescott Park is Open – and Youth Soccer is Underway!
Cherokee families have a new favorite spot to play, gather, and make memories—Wescott Park is officially open! Designed with the entire community in mind, the park features four little-kid soccer fields, two big-kid soccer fields, two sand volleyball courts, two slow-pitch softball fields, and convenient restrooms. As a result, it offers a welcoming space where kids can run, neighbors can connect, and families can enjoy quality time together.
On opening night, excitement filled the park as youth soccer kicked off for the season. Young athletes ran, laughed, and showed off their skills, while parents cheered from the sidelines and caught up with friends and neighbors. In many ways, the evening served as a joyful reminder that parks aren’t just about fields and courts. Instead, they bring people together to build community, create memories, and share meaningful experiences.
Beyond organized sports, Wescott Park offers something for everyone. Families can take evening walks, meet up for picnics, or simply enjoy a sunny afternoon outdoors. With multiple amenities in one location, the park welcomes children of all ages and encourages the entire community to spend time outside.
Most importantly, the park’s completion marks an exciting new chapter for Cherokee. It represents more than a place for recreation. Rather, it creates opportunities for connection, growth, and community pride. Residents are encouraged to visit, explore, and participate in the activities and events planned throughout the year.
Whether you’re watching a game, kicking a ball around, or enjoying a leisurely stroll, Wescott Park is ready to become your go-to spot for fun and connection. Here’s to a season filled with laughter, soccer goals, and happy memories!
